Frequently Asked Questions
What is Integrative Homeopathy?
I've chosen to practice Integrative Homeopathy and use a variety of different protocols, including, but not limited to, Gemmotherapy (a form of herbal medicine), Organotherapy (organ support), Tissue Salts (supplementation) and a gentle form of Detoxification using Drainage remedies that support and help balance the indicated organs; all of this as opposed to the more strict classical approach which uses a single remedy. It's my strong opinion that a well chosen blend of modalities results in a quicker more complete result.
Can homeopathy be used alongside prescription medications?
Yes, absolutely. Homeopathy is a complementary medicine that works alongside your existing wellness practices. You should never stop or change prescribed medications without consulting the prescribing healthcare professional.
Who Can Benefit from Homeopathy?
Really anyone can. Homeopathy is a safe, gentle, and effective form of medicine that supports the body in doing what it inherently knows how to do. Unlike conventional medicine that has a specific physiological action in the body and is targeted to an isolated symptom, homeopathy addresses the entire person and is truly wholistic.
What happens during the first appointment?
Your initial consultation typically lasts 90-120 minutes. During your consultation we will discuss your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, sleep, stress, nutrition, medications, and wellness goals to develop an individualized plan.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes, absolutely. I see clients across Canada and in person at Bayside Wellness in Collingwood, ON and Clarksburg, ON.
How soon will I notice any change?
Everyone responds differently. Factors such as your overall health, the chronicity of your condition, the nature of your concerns, and your treatment plan all influence progress and this varies from person to person. Some individuals benefit from only a few visits while others choose ongoing support. My goal, is to get you starting to feel better in fairly short order, however, healing is a process and for many people who find homeopathy, it's only after they've tried other modalities or treatments that haven't been as effective as they had hoped. It's my strong opinion that it takes a village, and we don't need to commit ourselves to any single form of treatment or modality. We should all work as a team to support your wellness the best we can.
Do you treat children?
Yes. Absolutely. Children are some of our favourite clients. They're relatively easy to work with and don't have years of bad habits to contend with. They show some of our quickest responses to homeopathic remedies because their systems are so responsive.
What is your cancellation policy?
I understand that life happens but I also think it's only fair to give 24 hours notice if at all possible. If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice without a legitimate reason, then the next appointment will need to be paid for in full at the time of booking.
Is Homeopathy covered by OHIP or insurance?
Homeopathy is not covered by OHIP but may be covered by your Extended Health Care Plan. Many insurance providers and packages cover the services of a Registered Homeopath. Check your policy to see if you have coverage for complementary services. And keep your receipts because you may be able to claim it as a medical expense on your income tax.
